The Online Safety Hack. Brought to you by GovTech Digital4Good, the Online Safety Hackathon brings students, mentors and public officers together to explore practical ways to make digital spaces safer. First time at a hackathon? Don't be shy, join us!
What should I build? A few interesting directions you could work on:
1. Trust, Commerce & Fraud — Build systems that make online transactions safer, reduce scams and detect fraud.
2. Gen AI Deception — Explore ways to recognise deepfakes, synthetic voices and other AI-generated deception.
3. Technology-Enabled Harms — Address cyberbullying, doxxing, harassment and non-consensual sharing.
4. Gen AI for Good :) — Use AI thoughtfully to support well-being, community safety and digital confidence.
